Ok, in Descent 2 level 2, there is a helix cannon in a secret room but I cant seem to get the door open. I know that there is a switch that opens the door, however by the time I blow it and reach the door its already closed. Can anyone help?

I'm a seasoned Descent player in all 3 games, however theres one thing that I can't exactly figure out. In Descent 3 you have the option of having Pilot pictures, however, I can never find how to import them or where I would get them in the game. Can anyone help me out?
