I do agree that there's no comparison to the original levels. Unfortunately, no one is making new D2 levels except for 3rd parties. And playing the original ones for the 100th time, even upside down, has lost it's challenge.

Okay, I have the blue key and after flying around several times I can't find my next step. Where oh where is that Yellow Key?

AH! Got it! Now into the Yellow room.

Carlsbad Grotto to be exact. I'm trying to get to the yellow key, but I
can't find a switch or door combination to make the wall vanish.

In reference to another post, I had written that the exit sequence in the D1 games locked my system. This was in a Win98 environment using D2X-XL. When I play the games in Windows 2000 (also with D2X-XL) the exit sequence performs normally. Not complaining here at all! I only wish I had found D2X-XL ...

Found the INI file and removed the semicolon from the "no movies" switch. Will try that.

I'm running my D1 games out of my D2 install using D2X-XL. Win98 on a 1Ghz Pentium processor and 512 RAM. When the ship exits the mine, the system locks. Can I do something that will just end the mission and go to the scoring instead of playing the exit "movies"?

I have reached D2 heaven! I have a 1G processor and installed Win98 on a separate partition so as to run D1 and D2. The mouse play action was terrible, the ship bounced so much I needed Dramamine, and the levels I created lost all their custom textures and would not segue into a mission. I patched ...

Elsewhere within this site (http://www.descent2.de/index.html), there's a reference to upgrading D2 to version 1.5 in order to run D2 on a newer machine. Where can I find this patch?
