Valin, Do you have SLI GPU's, Nvidia and Vista are working on more compatible drivers for that but if you are using that type of setup you might want to turn it off for D2X. yea well it's not so that I can't live with it, I put the D2X-Xl data on my RAID striped array and so far it's cut load time by like 10x....or so it seems :lol:

yea lol I should have a computer that can run D2X-XL. A dual core AMD 4GHZ combined with 2 7900GTX's and 2GB overclocked corsair RAM....Where's the level lol. On the other hand e-mail sent.

I'd say that either your video card doesn't support the required OpenGL needed by D2X-XL. Or that you don't have the newest version (2.0 i think) installed. Don't take my word for it though as I'm not a mac user and don't fully know how it works. It's just a thought.

Going into what Chaos was asking about incorporating custom models into d2x-xl, wouldn't it be possible to have, a routine that, say searched for custom bots in the bot folder and load them up with d2x-xl upon startup? That way if the person wanted to play a level with them they'd already be loaded ...

besides microsoft has been planning a service pack to make the massive DRM hit and the annoying security advisor much easier to deal with and not such a PITA. Give it some time man I don't believe they're going to keep it like it is forever.

google vista beta version (fill in blank) and openGl drivers. I found em on a forum and they work awesome! They aren't even that hard to install.

Actually Vista supports OpenGL like its native D3D. In fact, Microsoft has said that in vista openGl will run better than its own API. It has full support I was a beta tester for that. Ok I over-reacted....it's not the first time lol. I scaled down the hull but as for edgy with the hull I'll pretty much have to re-do the poly's around it by hand. Also because this robot is frustrating the heck outta me I've started on the guidebot.

smoothing is an option but increases polys almost ten-fold at points...also yes I got some really great tuts (from the modelers that made UT2003!) that showed me how to take an ordinary cube and morph it into a person with armor. With this I'm hoping to be able to include rivets from scarring etc ...
