Valin, Do you have SLI GPU's, Nvidia and Vista are working on more compatible drivers for that but if you are using that type of setup you might want to turn it off for D2X. Also, I have had problems with Nvidias latest drivers as well and they are working on it now actually :) let's just hope that ...

lol yea i thought that res was too high i'll scale it down in the future. All settings are maxed out except for Open-GL lighting (which is what you said to leave off). This didn't happen before with high-rez textures or powerups enabled but when i turned them off nothing really happened. I wish I ...

ok from what I see there is a grave inconsistency of energy. The first main room has lighting bugs of some kind (it was rendering really weird). This is having everything and i mean EVERYTHING maxed out. OpenGL lighting enabled shadows and smoke maxed out range on everything maxed out. The amount ...

I see what you mean but what I'm saying is...Ok for a scenario. I'm loading a level made by someone that has a custom robot. That's fine but Diedel if you put it into the level data (mn2) a table of any custom bots and any other data needed to load them into memory for use you really wouldn't have ...

Going into what Chaos was asking about incorporating custom models into d2x-xl, wouldn't it be possible to have, a routine that, say searched for custom bots in the bot folder and load them up with d2x-xl upon startup? That way if the person wanted to play a level with them they'd already be loaded ...

here's the model with dizzy's helpful hints I believe it looks far better. But for some reason the edges on the gun don't want to fillet at all! :x I come up with a non-manifold vertex error :? and i have No clue as to to solution to get it fixed. Other than that a few little tweaks and it'll be ...

Actually Vista supports OpenGL like its native D3D. In fact, Microsoft has said that in vista openGl will run better than its own API. It has full support I was a beta tester for that. The drivers are, mind you, hard to install and/or find but once they're in it works just like XP....BTW yes i have ...

Well I see what you mean. However you do Not have to be as blunt as you were :x ! I love this game and want to see it be bettered, however if you just ...

smoothing is an option but increases polys almost ten-fold at points...also yes I got some really great tuts (from the modelers that made UT2003!) that showed me how to take an ordinary cube and morph it into a person with armor. With this I'm hoping to be able to include rivets from scarring etc ...

Just wonering but is there a way to select what pat of the model gets the poly cuts? What I'm pretty much saying is....can you take a falt faced part of a gun that might consist of...say.....5 faces and make it into maybe 1-3 faces? Also for the rounded cylindrical like surfaces....are they NURBS ...

ok....there's good news and bad news... the good news is that I got my grubby paws on 3ds max. This should be a boon for dizzy as we don't have to worry about conversion anymore. Yay!
