Well I hunkered down and dropped a wad of cash this morning for this beautiful, bad baby ... It is a LeMond Tourmalet and is really an upgraded Trek 1500 (Trek makes these bikes). I rode a Trek 1500 for about 15 minutes then this one for about the same and I like it much better. The rear axle is dropped about a centimeter relative to the 1500 (low rider style) which makes a huge difference in the ride comfort. The rear derailer is upgraded to the Shimano Ultegra. The handlebars are a little wider but that extra leverage makes a huge difference in the turn sensitivity. I believe I am in love! it was a female I would ... uh ... skip it

Cost as shown was just shy of $1400. I could of saved $200 online but hey, I get great support from the local shop. Anyhow, pics follws:

I bought a Trek 4500 last year and I'm loving it. It's not a street bike though, all off road.

Nice! I just got a road bike myself. Mine's a Giant OCR1; pretty much the same type of relaxed-geometry thing as yours, only in the new 'compact' frame style which I don't know if I'm that keen on. And for some reason it has all Ultegra components, even though the specs say some 105. Take good care of your baby and I'm sure you'll enjoy every mile you put on it

Ugh, I totally ruined my one-year-old GT Aggressor 3.0 over the winter. Derailer is all screwed up, gears are all rusted out and teeth are bent, the left pedal is hanging on by a few nylon threads. In short, it needs a bit more than a tune-up.

Thing is, despite being a mountain bike, I only use it for riding around town (I need the giant frame because I'm so huge). It is, however, my sole mode of transportation as I do not own a car.

Luckily I can probably take care of the pedals myself. Hell, if I feel like getting my hands dirty, I could pick up a decent set of gears and give it a go. Most likely, though, I'm gonna wind up paying the mechanic down the block to fix it for me.

Very nice ride Ice. Now, remove the reflectors, file off the lawer lips on the drop outs and you are in business.

I ride a Cannondale CAAD 4 with carbon fork and ultegra groupo (the brakes are 105). I love the thing. I was used to an old steel Specialized Allez. The Cannondale is lights years more comfy.

the merckx is a team issue domo in chrono finish (very rare) and the pesenti frame is something special, custom built for me in italy and only made for pro riders (its good being in the trade

Since the bike has no rear seat, howya going to pick women up on that! Nice bike though. I got some no name mountain bike parked out in the garage that I only use occasionally. It doesn't have a rear seat either
