Two words for that thing:

Holy Crap

I'm not sure if i want to believe that as being serious or not. Needing to daisy chain 5 300 watt PSUs to just run the fan? That's outright scary - why not run a power cord right to a wall outlet. It'd be a hell of a lot cheaper.

Of course you are right with saying why not go with water cooling. Heck.. get 2 of those fans, attach some wings to the computer... and you could pretend you have a jet powered pyro. I just don't want to think about what happens when you run out of power cord...

You don't think that's for real do you?

If you do, you also need to know that The Oxford Dictionary missed out the word "Gullible" in the latest edition!

LMFAO!

Who knows

Post by Arayenya »

Well the more I look at it the more it seems pretty obvious that it can't be real. However, that being said, I can guarantee you that there would be someone out there who would want a CPU fan that big, and after seeing a pic like that... well someone is going to try.

Burst

Post by Arayenya »

Yeah yeah, burst our bubble, lol. It had me going at first, I will fully admit that. I -still- think that there is someone out there who is going to try and make something like it. Maybe not with the same air push abilities mind. Hell I think a lot of actually -want- something this outrageous to be real because, well.. its just so outrageous.

Arayenya/Matrix

edit - PS: Though it would make sense that the thing would be a hazard to small pets...
Developed with the help of the British Aerospace wind tunnel engineers, the BBTMF can pump enough air to pop you double glazing out, so it comes with several precautionary notes, mainly involving the suction and loss of small pets whilst in the vicinity of your machine.
Yeah... that clinches it. Fake.
