Not exactly "Farenheit 360" but...
Since that should have been entitled "Descent vs. Half-Life, and therefore why Half-Life sucks," I decided to try my hand at some Descent propaganda. Something that focuses only on the good points of Descent. Something like this.
Thoughts? Flames? I whipped this up in a couple of hours, no extensive research, just fun with HTML and screenshots.

Uh huh. Good for advertising. If there's anything negative about any other specific games, it's probably the comment about MW4's control setup - which, let's face it, most MW4 players I know would readily agree with anyway - and um, other than that, it just seems to focus on what makes Descent different.
I should note that these days there is a growing 'nostalgia gaming' movement, mainly by people looking for games with things ... not unlike what Descent has to offer. (And, of course, people like me who never had hardware good enough to run anything better anyway. ) Not a bad page for marketing to such people.
Of course, if they all saw it, heh...

Very good! Two things in addition to the above that I would consider adding:
1) That keyboard/mouse setups are still quite possible (since most people find joysticks more of a burden than a feature )
2) Current links where to still buy the series such as...
http://corporate.marketworks.com/storef ... 181&dfid=1
http://www.knightdiscounts.com/software ... _space.htm

Very nice job. Some better screenshots would be nice.
May I suggest linking to this very informative thread by Pugwash:
How to patch, find games, and chat.
Also, here's a video by Bunyip of Descent 3 in action. Please dont hotlink it though. Host it yourself if you want to use it.

I was planning on getting some better screentshots eventually. Remember, this was a quick hack.
And yes, I'm funkay. I play slap bass and funk guitar. Saxophone too. Make my funk the P-funk.
The video is 14MB, I don't have room to host it on my page, but I may be able to do something cool instead. We'll see.

Again, I'm thrilled that you guys like it. At least the next time you clobber me in D3, you can stop and think, "you know, that guy has good writing skills!"
I've been sick this week, and the wife has frowned upon playing Descent all night until I feel better, so better screenshots will have to wait.
As a side note, I now have my 4-year-old and my 7-year-old fighting over who gets to play "Level 1 Space" as my kids call it (Descent 1). Andy calls lasers "Poom-pooms" and he happily shouts along with them as he blasts robots to smithereens. "Poom! Poom! Take that, sucker!"
The day after I posted this article, I got 47 hits. Today, I've got 65 and still counting. This one page counts for about %45 of my total website traffic, by a large margin. This supports what I knew all along.
Descent is the only thing that really matters!

Descent propaganda D4E
FunkyStickman excellent maneuver. Maybe HeXetic should use your article as a hook for Into Cerberon with the Doom3 community.
