Descent 2D

MidiV just updated the Russian Descent Outpost site with a notice that he is hosting a new Descent-themed game by Yaroslav Poliakov a.k.a. Smell_U_Later. The game is called Descent 2D, and it appears to be an Asteroids clone. Documentation in Russian and English is included:

It already exists. Blasteroids uses the same energy and shield power-up graphics that Descent does, and features three ship types... a small fast one, large fat one, and one in between.

Interesting, but.... I kind of like to see the game I'm playing before I lose. Any way of slowing it down, and possibly using robot models instead of powerup models to shoot at you?

Well, MehYam, i didn't know that. The guy just sent me his game and i posted it.
Btw, feel free to email Smell_U_Later with your opinions - his email exists in the readme file.

Eh? To me it was a smaller screen, with blue shield orbs and cloak powerups shooting red balls that killed me so quickly i didn't have time to react.

The screenshot I posted is not of the same game. I'm just asking if that's what you were looking for...
