(after reading a bit more)
what's all this "How it might work" stuff they keep saying?
might?
MIGHT?!
goddamn if they don't know they shouldn't don't bother telling us about it until they DO know.
what if it turns out to be unusable crap? it could well be. then this article's speculation will set a lot of ppl up for disappointment.
i had to try hard to not do that kindof stuff to our readers at zzzonline - it's cruel.
edit:
ok i'm excited again. they said it was highly accurate, that's great news - for these sorts of things in the past have always had trouble with accuracy (like my P5 glove).

edit:
Using Nintendo's controller to navigate first-person shooters is going to be an amazingly empowering, freeing experience. We know this because Nintendo demoed a modified version of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes using the new peripheral, and the potential is undeniably jaw-dropping. In the demo, players could move Samus through the environments with the attached analog trigger. The need to lock-on to enemies, however, was been eliminated, thanks to a new level of precision aiming made possible with the pointer. In a level of accuracy rivaled only by a PC mouse configuration, gamers could simply use the device to point and shoot.

Man, watching that promo video, I couldn't help but start working up a Descent control configuration in my head.
I have both the Descent titles for Playstation, but always got a little frustrated by the controller limitations. If it works, I'd definitely consider it as my next console (I'm still working on my old PS1 ).

My opinions on the Revolution controller are mixed. While it's probably going to make porting titles from the X360 or PS3 difficult, at the same time it's going to force developers to re-think game design. Perhaps it's a much-needed kick in the rear for an industry where people often complain about lack of innovation.
