Omega Wing - Half Life Descent(like) Mod.
Check this out. Haven't looked very far into this, but looks kind of interesting at a glance.

I did see a short demo from cockpit view, lloks like it had some promise, but still a Half-Life MOD.Omega Wing is a Space Sim/Deathmatch Multiplayer mod for Half-Life heavily based on descent.
Featuring full 360 degree movement and an assortment of weapons and ships, eventually there will
be team based modes as well.
Now that the intro is out of the way..
I started working on Omega Wing around June 13th, and progress has been very steady. I've
released 6 Alpha's, the latest is available on the page.
It needs custom content, right now most of the models/sounds are hacked descent3 models.
But theres a few new designs already on the way!
So far the weapons/items completed are:
Lasers
Super Lasers
Plasma
Vulcan Cannon
Quad Lasers
Concussion Missiles
Homing Missiles
Smart Missiles
Afterburner's
Afterburner Regulator Addon
Remember, its still in alpha stage, and if you would like to lend a hand Let me know!

What does this thing have to do with Core Decision? There's already a team working on a 6DOF Doom 3 mod (Into Cerberon), and there's been no problems between them. HighOctane's trying to release a completely new 6DOF game; any mods for existing games don't concern them in the least.ThunderBunny wrote:byebye core decision...
(like it ever was gonna happen anyway.)

throw in a mission editor and the awesome level designers we have will take it from there.
Half-Life 2's editor is called "Hammer". There are a wealth of tutorials available on how to map for HL2. The only real changes would of course be entities, as the Omega Wing Zero entities have not been developed yet. (Weaponry, pickups, etc.)
You can get Hammer from
http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.p ... 700&page=2
And you can find the tutorials @

We also need permission to recreate/modify/develop these maps.

Many of the level developers that made the old favorites are no longer in the d3 community. Many of them can be contacted by someone here tho. When you decide which ones to port ask here and somebody will be able to hook you up. If not I would consider many of these things to have been abandoned and would go ahead after making a fair attempt to find these peeps.Zanboo wrote:We also need permission to recreate/modify/develop these maps.
