Custom textures

Post by Boo »

So i've created some custom textures for an upcoming level. I sorta figured it out from scratch (I couldn't find a tutorial) However, d3edit crashes frequently when viewing them.

Steps taken:
1|Create .gam with entries for new textures
2|Package .gam and all .ogfs in a hog2 file
3|Change hog2's extension to mn3, import into d3edit via the 'data' menu

All the .gam entries have valid entires as far as I can tell, but that's my best guess at where I screwed up. Anything I should check for, or anything else I'm doing wrong?

What version of D3Edit are you using?

Why are you changing filenames? You should use D3 Quicktest or MN3Edit to create a levelless MN3 file with just your textures and GAM file inside. Then, you can make D3Edit autoload it... it's one of the pulldown menu options when you first start D3Edit.

According to the editor, I'm running v1.1 [beta 9|Atan 0.3_3i]

EDIT: Fixed now, hooray. But to top it off, virtualgcc.exe now crashes whenever I try to compile anything through d3edit. /sigh

Someday I'm going to be known as the user of inifnite problems and/or annoyance :/
