D1 MAC Trax

Post by Lovo formerly Alieo »

I just got the MAC soundtrack for D1 music. I got it for this purpose only, for I do not own a MAC! 8)
On the playstation version, I know the track correspondance to the levels, but I do not know it for the MAC version.

Here's a list of the PSX version of D1 songs in the track order of the D1 MAC CD:

(Note: Each level stated below marks the level the song debuted)

Track01: DATA (NO AUDIO)

Track02: PSX=Level 6; MAC=(Most likely Title Screen)
-MIDI version used in title screen

Track03: PSX=Level complete; MAC=(Most likely the briefing music)
-MIDI version is used in briefing

Track04: PSX=Exiting the mines (PSX had FMVs of exits); MAC=(duh!)

Track05: PSX=Credits MAC=(Most likely the same)

Track06: PSX=Level 11; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version of this song used in D1 Level 12.

Track07: PSX=Level 1; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
MIDI version of this song used in D1 Level 2

Track08: PSX=Level 3; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is D1 Level 22

Track09: PSX=Level 10; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is D1 Level 3

Track10: PSX=Level 2; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is D1 Level 18

Track11: PSX=Level 4; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is unknown... perhaps it is a remake of the MIDI version of D1 Level 4? That's the only one I think it REMOTELY symbolizes.

Track12: PSX=Level 7; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is unknown... perhaps it is a remake of the MIDI version of D1 Level 7? That's the only one I think it REMOTELY symbolizes.

Track13: PSX=NOT AVAILABLE; What in the H3LL is this song?! I have NEVER heard it before! It's not on the PSX soundtrack and it has more songs than the MAC CD. It sounds to me like it COULD be used exclusively as a boss robot background song. If this is so, it would match perfectly! Or is this another level song?; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is unknown... perhaps it is a remake of the MIDI version of D1 Level 9? That's the BEST guess I have for it. It starts off kinda like D1 MIDI Lvl. 9

Track14: PSX=Level 5; MAC=(What levels is this used in?)
-MIDI version is D1 Level 14.

OKAY! So, if anyone out there is savy enough in their D1 MAC music knowledge, please help me out here. Just fill in all parenthesis. Thanks for your help in advance!

What I'd like is a way to download the mac/psx D1 soundtrack.

OK, lets see here:

Track 1: nothing, duh

Track 2: Primitive Rage, title screen
Track 3: Outerlimits, briefing music
Track 4: Close call, escape the mine
Track 5: The darkness of space, credits
Track 6-13: IIRC they are now level 1 and up and then repeated like this. I am sorry that I don't definitely know. I need to get my D1 CD which is at home and not here at college. I will then start up D1 and check it out.
Track 14: Ummm... I don't have these... Maybe because I got the bundled version of D1 with my Performa 6360? I just bought an actual non bundled version and it is coming in the mail so we will have to see. Will hopefully edit this post soon with more information.

I have tracks 2-14 from the CD that came bundled with my 6400.

Err, I screwed up on my numbers in my head. So the only thing I have a question about is track 14. I don't remember that one. When I get my hands on a D1 CD I will check it out.

Vindicator posted the PSX tracks in this very forum over a year ago. I believe they're up on PD as well.

They're not on PD, but they have been posted here relatively recently. I just grabbed them myself off the disk using a utility called PSXMC.
