Formula 1 on VIIDOO?

Post by Mobius »

www.viidoo.com

This site re-transmits TV channels on the web. Typically, I walk about a kilometre to a casino to watch the Formula 1, but they don't allow Laptops on the premises, and they don't have a WIFI network for me to get the Formula 1 \"Live Timing\" data on.

Now, I'm hoping that one of the VIIDOO channels carries a (LIVE!) Formula 1 feed so that I can watch at home, and simultaneously get the live timing.

Anyway, I can suffer US comentators if it means being able to follow the Live Timing.

Question - what channel - if any - carries Formula 1 in the US - and is it on VIIDOO?

Found the answer. It seems to be on \"Star Sports\" channel.

Probably this is the awful \"Speed\" coverage - and not the perferred ITV transmission?

haha it uses bittorrent, that's mad awesome :D
Autoscaling distributed network live streaming video channels - this idea is great.

I think F1 is shown on Speed, except for the USGP and Monaco, which are usually on ABC.

Speed carries F1 in the US. In Canada, we have TSN, RDS (French from Quebec) and we also get Speed.

there is another site called streamtvnow.com
I used to go there to get NFL games that weren't broadcast in my area until I finally broke down and switched to DirectTV this season. They probably have some F1 action on one of their channels since they have quite a few european users there...

Well, I had the station coming in at 130KB/s, fullscreen on monitor #1, and the Live Timing Java applet running full screen on Monitor #2.

I had just poured myself a big bourbon and coke, and was 15 minutes away from the race start.... and then.... feed died!

Everyone on the viidoo chat screen screaming that Star Sports had gone down!

I think it was taken down on purpose to save bandwidth. The station came back up about 30 minutes after the race ended. :(

So I had to walk down to the friking Casino again.\\*sigh*

Yep Merl - GREAT race.

I reiterate my belief that Kimi muist be the unluckiest man in Formula 1 EVER. Perhaps he is not very good at keeping a car undamaged, and can not do what Michael seems to do: keep his car intact, and not blow it up.

I think Kubica is the best thing to happen to F1 for a long time, and I am looking forward to seeing him take the Championship before 2010.

I'm pretty sure Kimi won't be any good at Ferrari either. I just hope McLaren get some drivers who can help them to a bigger share of the podium.

I tihnk Kimi will win the championship within 2 year at Ferrari and Alonso made a big mistake by leaving Renualt and going to McLaren. There is not a lot of talent in F1 now and even less when Schumi leaves this year.

Kimi's move to the prancing horse is intriguing.

He's fast, no boudt adoubt it - but it does seem like he has to pulverise his car to be quick: next year will show whether it's him, or Mclaren, that's responsible for his horrendous attrition rate.

If Kimi just start pounding punters all over the shop, proving Mclaren was the weakest link, then Alonso might have made the mother of all blunders.

However, if Kimi just picks up at Ferrari where he left off at Mclaren (forever parking smouldering heaps trackside), then the talented Alonso in a sans Shumi season might drive Mclaren to, what seem like, long lost pastures of glory.
