Descent I - Final Level

Post by Glowhyena »

When I fight the final boss, its room has robot generator. So I think can't destroy all of them from robot generator in Final Boss Robot's room. 'Cuz they can't stop appearing like hell. Right? or will be stopped? I want to have high score after best all 30 levels.

I'm quoting from my page:

At first you should go to the armory which is hidden behind an energy center and locked by a forcefield. To disable it you got to shoot 7 \"buttons\" in a certain order: 5 - 3 - 2 - 7 - 4 (enumerated from left to right); if you shoot the wrong ones just use the switch in the middle to reset the \"buttons\". By gaining access to it you also disabled all matcens which should save you some trouble.

Well that's weird cause this boss has no weak spot. You don't need to hit him in the head but anywhere on his hull will be just fine.

And with the abundance of Megas, Cloaks and Invulns in this level it's almost impossible to get killed by him before having a chance to finishe him off. Check my demo on this.

ESL=English as Second Language. I'm just wondering if English is your second language or something, as your posts just don't look like English was your first language. No offense, I'm just wondering.

And if we're talking about Descent 1, the boss does indeed spawn the robots. Kill him, they stop spawning.

From memory that's right.

If you want the maximum possible score in D1, you have to
- Play on Insane
- Never die
- Always end with 200 energy and shields
- Kill everything and collect all hostages

Oh, and the doozy:
- Sit in L27 boss room forever killing all the robots that just keep coming.

Yes, I already know. I tried that for many times, thanks. But Heavy Hulk is great to kill me. I tried to dodge its Homing Missiles. If I play it on Insane, that will be impossible to dodge. If I fight with the Heavy Hulk, both I firing Quadlaser and launching Concussion and Homing missiles. And launch two Smart missiles or launch one Mega missile.

You lose points for dying? Or does that just reduce your skill bonus? Probably the bonus...

No,in DI and DII score never lose if drying. But D3, can be. If accident kill allied, the score will be lose.

Killed:
Cheap Allied = bit lose (50-100)

Very important Allied = much lose (1000)

In DI and DII, drying is ok if not too much. 'Cuz I have many lives.

Jonathan, your language while censored is not called for. he innocently wanted to know if English is a second or first language for you. he also put no offense meant as well.

just keep it clean 8)

Just the bonus. Obviously you lose even more bonus if you were carrying hostages at the time.

Moon,

Could you please put your URL in your sig or something? I can never find your site when I need it and for sure, it is the best!

Ohmster, a pm instead of asking me in three posts about my URL would have been sufficient. Especially as I'd already set up my url as a sig in a.g.d.

Besides, sigs are deprecated here on the DBB due to morons abusing them.

Ohmster,

the best would be to put the link to the Descendarium in your bookmarks. You can find the link e.g. in my Descent 2 site's links section.

I just have to say at this place the imho the Descendarium is one of the greatest, best done and most comprehensive Descent sites out there. I love it.

Robot generators will not cease to work on 'insane' only. On all other difficulties, they will stop to create new robots after a while.
