I have to take issue with that Descent question though. \"Which was the first First Person Shooter you could play online?\" Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, or Descent.

Answer: Quake?

DN3D and Descent don't count because they were IPX? I mean, sure, you needed Kali, but I'm pretty sure that happened before Quake!

54%. The quiz is wrong about Descent/Quake. It's also pretty heavily console and FPS focused -- shows what sort of gamers the quiz writers were.

here are some genres they mostly left out:
- BBS classics like \"Legend of the Red Dragon\"
- MUDs
- text/ASCII games like Advent, Moria, and Nethack.
- sports games (NBA Live, Madden, etc.)
- racing games (NFS, etc. -- though they did mention Gran Turismo.)
- space sims (Freespace, various Star Wars games, etc.)

A true \"are you a gamer\" quiz of 50 questions would at least hit each of those genres once.

Hmm... what was the name of the matchmaking service for Descent? It wasn't TEN, was it?

I think they were thinking of Quakeworld when they wrote that question -- integrated matchmaking.
