playing Midgard levels in D3?

Post by splintr »

I think I actually threw away my D2 disk. Currently getting a torrent copy via Azureus as I type this. The Midgard levels are all meant for D2. I already have D3 installed and working, and my 3DSP working (most of the time). Is there a way to convert D2 levels to run in D3?

Manually. This has been discussed many times here. Some players are converting levels manually or redoing them altogether. Others are not being made. One thing you must understand is that people don't like change. Some of the best D3 levels never get played.

Right now, the levels being played are:
skybox
stadium
viens
subway dancer
maybe 2 more.

People don't like change because if they're not familiar with the level they secretly feel like they couldn't do their best (read: beat everyone) in the level, and for fear they might lose a game. This was one of Descent's biggest downfalls in the multiplayer community...new levels keep the community fresh. But if no one plays them you end up like Descent has.

The question is \"Is there a way to convert D2 levels to run in D3?\", not \"Why do people play the same levels all the time?\" Stay on topic please or the thread will get moved/locked.
