In other words, people who don't fight in wars themselves.
I miss the old tribal way of doing it, where the chiefs would be the main fighter, and they wouldn't start wars unless they knew it would be worth risking their lives for.

Real weapons, Clay Bullets...... same thing as paintball just using clay munitions and no goofy looking guns with huge paintball CO2 tanks on them, no battery packs for full auto weapons, no changing out hoppers, only mags.
only thing that draws away from the realism is having to wear protective gear similar to that in paintball

Then I must be in the minority also. My first set of stitches and resultant scar was from a thrown stick spear that caught me in the forehead just above my eyes.Duper wrote:mR. Keep in mind Bet51987 that you are addressing an audience that essentially since birth, have played games like chicken with knives, darts, bricks, rocks, and basically anything that we can throw or maim with. Also BB guns in my time still could shoot through plywood and leather jackets as they had no restrictions on FPS at the time... so we played cowboys and Indians with those, along with bows and arrows, crossbows and slingshots, and yes people did lose their eyes and even bled profusely at times. If you feel bad over raising a welt I guarantee you'd not survive a Zombie Apocalypse
Mr.Obvious has spoken.
lol..you are in the minority. i never played games like that.

Same here. I used to have bbgun fights in the woods behind my house. 4 pump max, no headshots (obviously) I've a number of scars from things I used to do.
It all came to a grinding halt when I tore my hand and realized I could damage myself where I could never play guitar again. I've lived in a padded room ever since

Heh, I have never broken a bone in spite of all the bad accidents i have been in as a child.
Unless you count that stubbed little toe I had last year when it swelled up into all rings of color and would hurt for nearly 4 months. I never saw a doctor for it, but whenever I look at my toe now... it looks a bit different than the other little toe would be

Like the "older" people here, we used to do all kinds of stupid things, shoot each other with BB guns etc. Ever catch a wet snowball in the side of the head? Hit a tree while sled riding? ( or a car ) Jump off a roof just for fun? ( falling is fun, stopping can suck though ) and lawn darts are a whole other thread.
There was a creek we used to swim in that had a rope tied to a branch way up in the top of a tree. We'd set at the bottom of the tree, which was on a bank about 6' above the water, and the rest of the crew would be across the creek with other end of the rope. Then they would take off running with the rope, the rope was probably 150' long and a good 1" thick, and up you'd go, weeee! 10 guys could get you about 20' in the air... man, good times.
Is it just me or are the internet generation kids sort of soft and squishy
Yes they are soft and squishy. Their formative years are spent sitting in front of a monitor and not zooming up trees 20' in the air or dodging lawn darts. They also have learned their driving skills through GTA or NFS... and it shows when they actually get behind a wheel of a car. Not enough sunlight and exercise has caused this along with a diet high in sugar. I could go on but I don't want to sound like an old fart.
Hey hey now you're underestimating some of us
My childhood was rather active. When it wasn't rainy or cold out, I was out doing a lot of things that I ended up getting hurt. I got plenty of scars from my childhood activities
Now I'm a typical pampered wuss. I won't touch a large grasshopper or even try to put air in my tires (too freakin' paranoid to). I don't like to go near spiders. I haven't been on an actual bike for a few years and the last time I did an outdoor activity was a pathetic hike in the mountains a year ago.

You're... scared of... grashoppers?Kiran wrote:I won't touch a large grasshopper
Not necessarily scared of a Grasshopper. I just don't want to get its spit on me. Plus I'm not used to the anticipation of it possibly jumping out before I grab it, so i'd prolly jump and scream bloody murder when it does. Once I held the grasshopper a few times, I wouldn't mind touching it. Since it's been years, I just dont' really wanna touch one .

do you have siblings?
i can't count the amount of times i have hurt myself as a kid. scraped knees, falling over on roads, falling off my bike or rollerblades, stubbing toes, tripping over. While 4x4ing i once knocked out a tooth clean through my lip. I took a visible chunk outof my eyeball with a paperdart. Broken one arm, damaged cartilage of another elbow, dislocated a shoulder, dislocated a kneecap. Many sliced knees climbing wire fences.
Re:
No sibings or anything. Just dad and me, and yes, I did scrape my knees skateboarding, riding a bike and a few other cuts and bruises but nothing that ever required more than a band aid.roid wrote:do you have royal minders or something?
