Muahaha! Sixty-four player mayhem!

Post by Dakatsu »

http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=602017

Check the top of the quote box thingy, up to sixty four players in UT3 in one server :o

This is wonderful for the mod I am working on, as I plan on having a War mode (similar to the Battlefield series, except with many objectives and stuff). One twist is up to all four sides (the sides are the Skorpshjuze Republic, Hydrus Legio, Halcyon Dynasty and the Nekoketsukei Nation) can fight in one map. With sixty-four people, that can assure that each team can get up to sixteen people. IMAGINE TEH MAYHEM! IF I GET THIS SHOW GOING, JUST BOMBS AND SHIZ GOIN EVERYWHAREZ!

(This show will go faster once I obtain more memory for my computer, 3dsmax sucks up the damn universe when I open up my model, it goes teh crashness!)

Haven't checked UT3, maybe there are actually people playing now...

I just felt like posting a thread...

I'm sad now... :(

Most MMO companies use server farms/clusters for different world servers.

We packed 24~ guys into a VV server one night. Then again, you'd need to completely redesign Descent levels\\mods for that many players, even then it would be a stretch.

It'd be nice to see 24 Descent players in one night, never mind in one game.

thankfully not many ppl in BF2142 do that.
(but man it annoys me when they do it :x, it just looks so wrong - and surely it gives them an aiming disadvantage, not to mention jumping instantly drains ALL of your sprint energy). Yet i have been killed by ppl who do it.

When are you looking? There were 20 in a single CTF game alone last night at one point (there were at least 16 for pretty much the whole game), plus a few in other games.

This past week I remember at least two other games that got to 20+ players. One of 'em was in Waltz'n Matilda... that was insane, but fun!

Reminds me of my Von days. We would all pile into core and let it fly everywhere. What a blast. VonRon would get all toasted drinking beer and have us all laughing soooo hard. The man would get to where he could barly stay on topic much less talk heh heh
