D2X and D2X-XL

Post by pyro3d »

Is it possible to connect D2X and D2X-XL to play a LAN UDP multicast game?
(Note: The one computer using D2X does not meet the requirements to play D2X-Rebirth nor D2X-XL.) When I try to link them together, I see an error message basically telling me that the function that connects failed. Is there any specific port on my router that I need to forward or open one up in the firewalls? I cannot use the original Descent 2 because I do not have an IPX driver for OS9.

Macs. IBook G3 (900mhz) with 256MB RAM.
and an iMac G5 with 512 MB RAM. Both run OSX 10.4.11 but the iBook dualboots(OSX and OS9).

D2X/D2X-XL interoperability is a nice idea, but I've had trouble more often than not in past.

IPX drivers

I have some classic drivers that I've kept. You're welcome to them.
I also have the KaliMac 1.0beta and 1.8 alpha if you want to try Kali. You'd likely have to find and enter the server manually.
