Spore Creature Editor released!
http://eu.spore.com/home.cfm?lang=en
Okay, this thing is BRILLIANT! It's so easy to use, and the end result is so magnificent! And best of all, all these creatures you make will appear in the final game too; and not limited to just yourself, as the game is set so that it will pick out any creatures uploaded online to use in your universe!
For those of you who don't know what Spore is, Watch this video.
If anyone's interested, here's the 60 creatures I've made so far. Hopefully, some should give you a few ideas on creatures to make.
Extract to My Documents/My Spore Creations/Creatures. And yes, the creature data is saved in small images like those.

Uh.. did you read the license agreement ?
Edit: Great software: \"A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5024).\"
Edit2: Interesting, Securom doesn't like it if you run Process Explorer..
The last sentence seems to be contrary to EA's ownership of your creatures tho.(c) Your Contributions. In exchange for use of the Spore Creature Creator, and to the extent that your contributions through use of the Spore Creature Creator give rise to any copyright interest, you hereby grant EA an exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, fully transferable and sub-licensable worldwide right and license to use your contributions in any way and for any purpose in connection with the Spore Games and related merchandise, including the rights to reproduce, copy, adapt, modify, perform, display, publish, broadcast, transmit, or otherwise communicate to the public by any means whether now known or unknown and distribute your contributions without any further notice or compensation to you of any kind for the whole duration of protection granted to intellectual property rights by applicable laws and international conventions. You hereby waive any moral rights of paternity, publication, reputation, or attribution with respect to EA’s and other players’ use and enjoyment of Spore Creatures in connection with Spore Games and related merchandise under applicable law. This license grant to EA, and the above waiver of any applicable moral rights, survives any termination of this Spore Creature Creator end user license. To illustrate, and without limiting the statements above, if you create a Spore Creature and upload it (pursuant to EA's agreement) to one of EA's third party partner's sites to create merchandise (such as a T-shirt or a replica), you acknowledge and agree that any other person can make the same or different merchandise using the Spore Creature or other assets that you created with the Spore Creature Creator tool without any compensation or notice to you.

The only possible things I dislike about spore is:
1.) No multiplayer. It would be awesome to the max if they did (not like deathmatch multiplayer, just do everything in the game with another player somewhere).
2.) It is being made by EA Game$! (I guess this didn't stop me from buying C&C3, and won't stop me from buying C&C Red Alert 3)
Most likely gonna get it when the full game comes out

Re:
Just bought the full version right now. Wheeee!
But still, at least your friends' creatures and civilisations can be in your game.
Well, except for expansion packs.
The entire license can be summed down to: EA can remove or modify content uploaded by the player online, and will not be held responsible in any way for anyone copying or modifying those creatures.Grendel wrote:Uh.. did you read the license agreement ?

On a scale like this? No, that would be much too hard to do. All creatures in the game would have to be in sync with those on the other computer.Dakatsu wrote:1.) No multiplayer. As a general rule, Maxis are the exception to EA's tendancy to not add anything new to their games.Dakatsu wrote:2.) It is being made by EA Game$!
