Having trouble with updating AVG free
For some reason, AVG will not update anything at this point. I've changed firewalls, program permissions and nothing has worked so far? What kind of problem could this be? Server issues?

Unless they canceled the free deal. Then that would suck.Duper wrote:From everything I've found V8 is only free for 30 days. ..or did I just miss something?

IMHO a \"competitor\" may be launching DOS attacks against Grisoft resulting in their update sites being either slow or nearly unavailable. ... Or perhaps they're just having trouble with their site.
The same thing happened about two weeks ago. If everything happens like the last time, they will soon be back to normal.
My AVG installs had a hard time updating today as well ... but they've all updated successfully now.

They're pretty clever with their marketing. From what I've found you can't get to their actual free version from their main site. You have to go to their "free" site to get it.Duper wrote:From everything I've found V8 is only free for 30 days. ..or did I just miss something?
