Well, if the government keeps printing money hand over fist, lowering interest rates (they're almost zero now) and increasing the national debt, we'll get hyperinflation and a worthless dollar just like that.
Edit: Hey I just noticed that I own some of those Reichmarks, courtesy of my husband's grandmother! Maybe they're worth something now!
