Play Station Cutscenes for D1
I wonder if it's possible (by means of some coding or whatever) to include the D1 intro, level ending and outro cinematics into Rebirth or XL? I know that these movies are around in form of EXTRAx-H.HOG (not sure about the name) files. Would it be possible to somehow implement them, like the D2 files?
Re:
To my knowledge, the cinematics use a proprietary codec which could be reverse engineered out of the source code. I do know that people have converted them to other formats, but you'd have to look around to find them.sarcaz wrote:I'd be interested as well to see what software is available to play these movies. Which codecs do they use?

Couldn't find anything initially that could decode them, but I don't have time to dig much deeper at the moment.

yesssir! Check HERE
There was a PSP mod done not too long ago as well. Anyone have the link to that? And also, with the PS3, can't you play any of the older Ps games?

I know where to get these files, and I am quite sure that I was able to play the playstation cutscenes from Descent 1 with the help of D2X-XL. I dislike this piece of software, though, and prefer Rebirth or Dosbox. I'm just curious if it's possible to play these movies with Rebirth. These movies are extremely similar to those that came with D2 PC version, and will replace your normal level-exiting sequences (well I prefer the D1 exiting sequences anyway).
BTW, has the Maximum version of D2 levels been already ported to PC? I would sure like to see what do these levels look like.
