I'd like to announce that DescentValhalla.com is now live! It is my hope that this site proves to be a useful resource to fellow Descenters. It's best features so far include:
It was a fair amount of work to develop but fortunately I was able to use a lot of what I originally put together for an old site you may remember called D3Community.com (which I merged into PlanetDescent.com). When I jumped back into the mines a year ago, I remember Do_Checkor asking if I was going to take over PD again. I chuckled and said, \"Nah.\" Those guys were doing a great job running what I left to them. But now that our beloved PD is gone, I decided to make some time and rebuild things. So now we don't have to deal with GameSpy ads and other clutter. It's just the content that matters. I do not have plans to place ads on the site. I hope you like it and it's not meant to compete with any other sites. It's just meant to compliment what's already out there. And its main goal is to make it easy to get back into the swing of all things Descent.
As I may get back to playing Descent I will find your site useful. Glad to see Kali is still online as I bought a lifetime membership a long time ago. So do most peeps still use Kali to log on?

I logged on to it for the first time in years the other day. It was the same as I left it. No descent gets played, all it is is a Vrooden/Juggy/Sika/etc bitching all day.
Only thing that bothers me was your reference to R-Twist joysticks being the cause of wrist pain (mouser babble), when in actuality poor joystick placement on top of a desk is the root cause of carpal tunnel
I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.
I'm glad the search worked for you. You can search by mission name, author, or filename.
Bubba & all,
I'm always open to feedback and suggestions. I was planning on writing an updated config article based on my setup (which is a hybrid from my old config and DT's new config). I have been quite successful with it and I don't mind sharing the knowledge... it's just that it's a LOT to absorb. It will be a lengthy article.
I already had to change web hosts. I'm going for less cost but better performance. So you were probably checking during the migration (yesterday). The download links should all be good again.
Havn't played in ages - too busy at work, but this is an excellent site: clean, simple, functional, easy and instinctive to navigate - quality work all round.
Just an FYI that I put up the article I mentioned above. It's a keyboard + mouse config guide that is targeted for the competitive pilot. It's got a lot of valuable config advice.
