An immigrant group based in Bern has called for the emblematic white cross to be removed from the Swiss national flag because as a Christian symbol it "no longer corresponds to today's multicultural Switzerland."
Ivica Petrusic, the vice president of Second@s Plus, a lobbying group that represents mostly Muslim second-generation foreigners in Switzerland (who colloquially are known as secondos) says the group will launch a nationwide campaign in October to ask Swiss citizens to consider adopting a flag that is less offensive to Muslim immigrants.

So Trent Lott and Strom Thurmond for that matter, is owed an apology from the media and the Democrat Party since there are no more slaves?
Instead of trying to sluff off the implications because this particular symbol/custom happens to be of no interest to you (or because you are driven by political polarization more than by good sense) you might want to consider the fundamental (pun intended) reasoning behind it.
I'm pretty sure the radical islamo-fascists want to take a little more from you than just some non-Islamic religious symbols. It is the reason why they make these demands that should concern you and like Neville Chamberlain learned about a similar faction, if you try to appease them and ultimately wait too long to recognize the threat it turns all to ★■◆● in a hurry.
