More rampant stupidity!

Why can't they just die? This fool is gonna father at least 3 kids as stupid as himself with a woman who already has 5 kids from 4 other fathers. Or, at the least, turn out like this.

Sure there is: get cancer from the oil-soaked water, and do drugs!Warlock wrote:tell her i sed im sorry iv been up there so maney times nothing to do at allPlebeian wrote: (j/k Warlock, my wife's from Levelland )
Seriously, though, she wanted to get the heck out for the longest time. We go up there to visit her family (who we'd like to see move down here to Austin anyway), and that's it. More than enough "nothing" for me on the drive, much less while there.

But wait! It gets even more stupid. Local media runs a poll to determine how much money folks would accept to ingest unidentified chemicals.

I don't think Ace was saying to let the kid off the hook -- just to also charge the guys who dared him. He deserves to sit in the hospital for a while and then get charged out the ying-yang for it, and whoever dared him to do it and stood by and watched should also be forced to pay part of the costs.
Atleast 71% of those polled said they wouldn't do it for any amount of money. That shows some signs of hopebash wrote:http://www.wftv.com/news/3317172/detail.html

btw...anyone sterilized before puberty and even after puberty wouldn't be able to produce children even if they were deemed fit to raise a child. After about 5 years of being sterile the process is irreversible. The only possible solution would be to have semen samples from said subject on record for use when he is approved to be a parent. Sterilizing someone before puberty renders that persons future family non-existant unless they adopt a child or decide to find a sperm donor.
Would backfire -- the guys in control would breed a worker class and charge hefty fees so only the rich can do as usual -- would lower IQ even worse. I say make the world less "safe" to give the idiots a better chance to go "oh shit!"Mobius wrote:Best idea: sterilise all children at 1-year of age, and don't un-sterilise them until they pass both an IQ test and a parenthood-competency test.
Now THAT'D raise the IQ of the human race - simply by not letting anyone under 100IQ ever have a kid.

i agree....i still say charge the idiots who dared him, with criminal negligence, and the idiot who followed the dare, with paying the medical bills, he induced onto himself. as for the teacher, i dunno, what can be done to the teacher for leaving the classroom, with dangerous materials unsecured and in the open?

Some of you are too busy hating on Ace to read what he said.
He's not shifting the blame off the moron -- the moron *was* a moron and he deserves everything he got.
But, IN ADDITION to the moron being punished... if anyone else was at fault, they should get punished as well. If someone just said "c'mon I dare ya, just kidding" they're not at fault... but if someone dared him, and watched him drink it, and ran away when the kid started bleeding instead of calling 911 and explaining what happened, they should get nailed for criminal negligence.
Instead of concluding "the teacher was innocent and whoever dared him was innocent", why not get more facts? Did the person who dared him sit and watch as he did it, and then run off instead of calling 911? If so, he's not innocent. If, on the other hand, he just said "hey man, I dare ya..." as a joke, and walked away, then yeah, he's innocent. RIGHT NOW, we don't have the facts to determine that -- and I doubt we ever will. So none of us is qualified to make that judgement -- not AceCombat, not Testicules, not me. The person who dared him knows whether or not they're innocent, and the hope is that the courts will find out and properly punish those who are guilty (including the kid, and possibly some of those who dared him.)

I don't think he said for the moron to sue anybody. I think he was saying the police should nail the moron's accomplices. I think you misinterpreted Ace's point.
There's a difference between the moron suing the guy who dared him, and collecting damages, than the police nailing the moron for criminal stupidity and the guys who dared him for criminal negligence.
Dude is a moron for drinking whatever it was, and he should pay for it. But if there were other morons involved, they should have to pay something too.

i live in fairplay, colorado. for those
who don't know, our town is in park county in a bowl shaped valley on the continental divide generally called south park(as opposed to middle, north, woodland, or estes parks). also for those who don't know, due to a rivalry between a high school in evergreen, co and our local high school, we are the "inspiration" for the cartoon "south park". at work yesterday i was asked by a touron "is this where they film south park?"
it's a freaking cartoon for the love of god!
not near as dumb, but pretty F'n stupid.
