I could tell you a few stories about voter intimidation from when I was a child living in North Philly, that would make your head spin around and explode…just like your logo.callmeslick wrote:hell, Spidey, you live in Philly. You know that West Philly precinct, or likely do. First, how much intimidation is going to come from a couple of crazies yelling in the street in that neighborhood, and second, how many voters would have changed their planned vote? You know as well as I that NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON came forward, not one. Don't try to be cute and suggest that they were too scared by a group that never was able to show more than 8 members total.
And none of that stuff ever made the news or was reported by the victims.
………………
In that area, where white people keep their mouths shut and try to stay invisible, I can imagine a scenario where someone pulls up in their car to vote at that polling place…sees a small group of rowdy young men…gets back in their car and drives away.
On the other hand an observer that does not live there, is more than likely to report such a thing…remember voting districts and polling places are very local and personal places.
Of course the irony here is that situation would probably deter many more black voters than white.
