Sergeant Thorne wrote:...only a fool would accept he concept of freedom itself as being at fault.
Oh course, the freedom I speak of is that which comes from human egoism, the thought that we are special and don't have to clean up after our mess. It's not just America, but all governments and all people from around the world. Not only did enlightenment thinkers fail to predict this future, many currently living in it are blind to the world around them. Not only do we need to abandon the retrospectively short-sighted visions of Madison and Jackson, but the entire species needs to abandon their current reasoning and develop a new sensitivity to the world around them, and strive to create a truly global society. Using the "founding father" argument to justify inaction on a global problem shows a perversely narrow worldview.

That's inevitable that we globalize. In all essence we already have. The problem I see is the atmosphere in which it is being built. You guys may scoff at the idea of a Law of God, but it was very prevalent in the day this country was founded and this country remained the oasis in a desert for many years until those ideals were slowly eroded away. I see no one in this world I would trust to globalize it. It's much safer to keep it divided, so that one doesn't take the whole out.

That's the problem. There's always someone somewhere who does want to take it all.
