Good IRC client for linux?

Post by sdfgeoff »

Anyone have any suggestions for a linux IRC client? Or should I just keep the web interface for the IRC networks I use?
Eh?

I use Thunderbird for my mail client, which has IRC built in. It's not the most robust feature but it works well and keeps a local history/log. It's better than most web clients. Before Thunderbird I used Pidgin. I've never used HexChat, which comes with a lot of distros. I guess the real question is "what features are you missing in a web client?"

I still use pidgin. It is fine, but it has an awkward interface (you add your favorite IRC chat rooms to your buddy list as buddies).
