Updated D3 Alias

Post by Testiculese »

Fixed all the bugs, added some stuff Suncho wanted, and built in a game tracker.

www.metallisoft.com/downloads/d3alias

If you have version prior to v1.69, get the full and install that, then get the 1.76 update.

Thanks for trying it!

Looks like it will be a very useful tool. :D Unfortunately, I haven't even been able to use it yet, though. As soon as I point it to main.exe, it gives me the following error:

http://www.fezzik.net/images/error.JPG

If I click ok, it shuts down D3 Alias. When I try to run D3 Alias again, it fires up D3 automatically without even giving me a chance to select a pilot or a server. I was able to reproduce it though, by removing main.exe from my D3 directory, running D3 Alias, then moving main.exe back to my D3 directory. Every time I point it to main.exe, the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

To solve the problem of D3 Alias automatically launching D3, run "Configure D3 Alias" instead.

I don't actually need that Key, so I removed that code. Fezz, grab the update exe (v1.76) on the site, and lemme know!

Checkor, I didn't get an email from ya. Try again?

Thx, Sunch, but I broke down and made my own already.

Crap, I thought I had the latest version. I (incorrectly) assumed that the full install was the latest. Anyhoo... all better now! Thanks, Testi!

1.77 is up. This update just lets you hide the configuration section (the main.exe, parameter list, taunts/logo section... Once you set that stuff, you don't really need to see it, so if you click on the Pyro, you can turn that section off.

Users who's installed .69 or higher only need get the .77 patch. If you version is prior to .69, get the full install, and install it over your existing. (No need to uninstall)

Looks like a great program. However, is there any way to get back to the text window that pops up when you first enter the configuration utility. I stupidly skipped through it and neglected to enter the registration code. Now I can't get back to it, even after uninstalling and reinstalling, and I don't remember the code.

:Bump:

Added server pings! Tho' some servers blackhole them...

edit:: I made a small oopsie where the window doens't always close when you join a game. I fixed that, and rewrote the core to strip out the PXO ties that were still lurking from when PXO was up. the result is a much cleaner code base, that I've streamlined even more.

I'm working on the pings, and server information now. Thx to those who answered my other thread about that. I'm hoping to get the user list for each server in athe next day or so, and impliment a buddy list like UT's so you can find someone quickly. :)

Updated again. I re-engineered the code to remove the old PXO stuff that was getting in the way of further development, and introducing pain-in-the-arse bugs. Re-arrainged some stuff for a cleaner UI and a little more simplicity.

Link is in the first post. Get v.81.

I apologize to anyone who downloaded v.78 or .79  They were the interim builds that I really shouldn't have put online.

Any ideas, hit me with them. If someone has the documentation (or can get it) for the packets to send the individual servers for player names, etc, it would sure save some investigation!
