What are you listening to
The DBB hasn't had one of these treads for sometime now.
Volbeat is one my favorite bands. I discovered them while driving on Route 66.

Is every song by Sabaton based of war and battle? Not a bad thing just wondering.
Re: What are you listening to
I'm a big fan of Syrians 2013 album, particularly this track:

And recently rediscovered some Simon and Garfunkel with an epic music twist:

What's the BBtag for video on this forum?

There is no tag, just post the raw link to the video and it automatically embeds it.sdfgeoff wrote:What's the BBtag for video on this forum?

Re: What are you listening to
Not all of them, but most are. They have a lot of songs about World Wars I & II, some more recent events, plus some really historical stuff. They did a concept album (Carolus Rex) about the rise and fall of Gustavus Adolphus & the Swedish Empire in the 1600s. Their album Heroes is about some heroes from World War II, from every side (Russia, Germany, Brazil, Poland, USA, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Czechoslovakia). Their latest album, The Last Stand, is about famous last stands, starting with the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae and covering stuff like the Battle of Bannockburn (Scotland, 1314), the Battle of the Argonne (1918), the Battle of Rorke's Drift (1879), the Stand of the Swiss Guard during the sacking of Rome (1527), a battle during the Soviet conflict in Afghanistan (1987) and more.TigerRaptorFX wrote:Is every song by Sabaton based of war and battle? I had heard of Sabaton, but never really checked them out until I saw them last year with Nightwish. I really enjoyed their show, and have really gotten into their music. They have a lot of energy when the play live, and you can tell that they enjoy what they do. They are touring in the US again with Trivium and I'm going to see them again next Friday - can't wait!

Ha. The lead singer kind of looks like Sargent Slaughter.Flatlander wrote:

Compared to what I've listen to over the years, not the typical metal band. This style of music with this much energy maybe bad for driving.

After playing Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, I've taken a liking to the Georgian Soundtrack.

My local radio hasn't played these in ages. Started listening to them again.

It heavily reminds me of the 80s band, Skid Row.

It does have that vibe. Their new album, The Dark Delight, was released last month. It's on Spotify. Good stuff.

Re: What are you listening to
Well I'm still writing a good deal of my own stuff, but when I'm not doing that I've been listening to a few bands, some known to the general population, and some not...
...one of the fairly unknown ones:
Also still listening to a good number of Pumo's songs, but I always do that
