Farcry 1.2 Patch Out Finally

Post by Jeff250 »

It's finally out. It was looking like D3 1.5 for a while, and that's no far cry from the truth.

All they're doing is removing the download from all the mirrors etc.
They can't rollback the installed patches.

Glad I beat single player before this came out. :)

lol sage thats what im saying. even before the 1.2 patch was released several modding developers completely abandond their projects due to Crytek/Ubi's?? lack of support.

the game is wonderful either way, i thought crytek did a great job, why they fuked up so bad is beyond me. but they surly are a talented group.

Instead of telling everyone to not download the patch from other sites and SOL-ing all those who had already applied it (thankfully not including me), Crytek could have at least released a "1.3" patch that was really 1.1 in disguise, despite the irony.

edit: Yeah, fortunately I'm done with single player and don't plan on trying multiplayer, unless everyone starts raving about it after one of these patches.

Most likely Ubi Soft is the one to blame. They did a similar thing with XIII, releasing it, and then abandoning it despite its latent problems. Either Ubi is pressuring its participating companies to release things without proper testing, or Ubi is horribly inept.

Ubi is just the producer though, right? Technical problems would stem from the developers at Crytek.

They actually delayed this patch a couple of times while trying to fix bugs.
