Gone are the days when people rush for DX updates.
What's the point?

Did a fresh install of WinXP today with my new Raptor drive. I installed DX 9.0c along with it and I have no problems to report. Everything works just fine.

it made my doom3 a tad smoother too
ea sports games are alot smoother, true crime streets of la seems the same, halo is the same as far as i can tell, and for some odd reason, my dvd's look a little crisper. that might be the new dvd software though.
no issues yet.

I tried a version ripped from the sp2 beta. It ran great, same framerates and UT2k4 looked sweet with it.

Doesn't Doom3 still use DirectX for input and audio?

Yeah, but I don't think most people expect big FPS gains from the optimization of their joystick drivers.

Maybe not joystick, Jeff, but certainly audio. Sound is a big processor hog.
