Well, considering the BoSox have imploded and that neither the Cards or Houston have a chance in h*ll to beat them, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the Yankees will be this season's World Series champs.
I wanna say too that I thought Pedro did a pretty good job last night, but Lieber was just a little bit better....

Huh? Lieber threw 45 pitches in first 5 innings, Pedro threw 46 in the first 2!

Jebus, Phil Garner sux.... he sukt when he managed the Brewers, he sukt when he managed the Tigers, and he sux even more now. What the heck was he (not) thinking bringing in Miceli and leaving Lidge in the bullpen. What an ID-10-T
I think he just micro-managed hiself right outta MLB! He'll be lucky if he still has a job by the end of today.
Edit: Houston's going down in 4!

I would say Lieber tremendously outperformed Pedro. That is how Pedro is supposed to pitch, everyone thought if Pedro pitched well, the BoSox would eat up the Yankees pitching. He murdered them, I love how it's the Red Sox poor batting, not the Yankees great pitching that's killing them. 1 hit in 37 at bats in the first 6 innings of both games combined, that is straight up dominance. And the 1-2 punch of Boston was supposed to be the Yankee killer and they in turn, lose both games.
Red Sox have their work cut out for them tonight too, Brown only gave up 1 run in 6 innings against Minn, and that was a first inning homerun. After that, they were completely shut down. Boston is better batting that Minn, but you never know. Goes to show that Boston can run the mouth with the best of them, as they did all year saying it was their year, and unless they stage a major comeback, they learned yet another lesson why the Yanks just wait till October and let their play do the talking. You didn't hear Mussina sit in front of the audience and say "I hope I can make every fan shut up, nothing better than making 55000 shut up"...oh well.

You must not know much about baseball Z. Nobody dominated anybody. The Redsox hitters are in a huge slump where they're swinging at everything. It also helps out a lot when you get pitches called for strikes as much as a foot outside the strikezone. Not real hard to be dominant then
Yes, it was stupid for Schilling to say such a thing but he isn't the only one who has done it. Not to mention when he said it he was talking about Yankee fans specifically. Jeter has said as much about every other team he and the yankees play against in years gone by. So this isn't something exclusive.
They've been on such a great run since 1996 with postseason play, Jeter's first season, that when they got sent packing in 01 he looked like he was about to cry. I'm sure he didn't like that I'm sure he didn't like it last year when they ran into a hotter team. Not to mention the year before that when they didn't make it out of the first round
oh well

GO YANKEES! Go cry all the way to the bank into your million dollar paychecks!
Heh!
way to go Red Sox. Now you get to lose in the series to the Cardinals, who will finish up the Astros in game 7.
Whoohoo!
