I did. May the best candidate win. May the winner do what is best, and what is right, for the people of these United States.

<- Voted early

I was really suprised at how many people are voting this time around vs. in 2000. I guess the last four years have left an impression on them. Whether it was a good or bad one, we'll know soon enough I suppose. I will say this though: If you don't vote (meaning those of us that are US residents and are 18 or older) then you have no right to complain if things turn sour.

And you're wrong. ;) You had your chance to make your voice known, and declined to do so. You have no right to complain about the consequences.

You might want to re-read your copy of the bill of rights. It says I do.

I must have missed the part in there, the long-lost 3.5th amendment: "If you choose not to participate in elections, you may still complain about the outcome and may deny that you have any responsibility to those elected."

You still have the right to talk if you don't vote, people just won't listen to you as much.

I was first elegible to vote in 1984 and have voted in every Presidential election but one since then. This is only the second one I have missed. I didn't really intend to miss it. Mrs. Dedman and I moved and the registration deadline snuck up on us while we were getting settled in.

Oh well, I wasn't going to vote for Bush or Kerry anyway, and Badnarik doesn't have a snowballs chance in Texas of carrying even one state.

Technically I think those that don't vote and are of age are making a much louder statement then those who do vote. If you're voting for crap you're not really helping the process along, only furthering the degradation.

Sometimes I wonder if nobody voted would the government then be forced to listen to the people in which it was founded to serve and hear that we want better candidates. Sadly thats doubtful.

Obviously I didn't vote this time. Didn't in 2000 either. You keep picking losers and you'll keep getting losers.

I voted in some primary before, but this is the first time I have voted for a presidential election.

I almost didnt vote because the old 88' Ford Taurus (that we used to go pick up our Cadillac which was in the repair shop) broke down, but the Ford dealer was half a mile away, and we got a ride from there to the GM dealer shortly after the ford was towed so we could pick up our other car and then went on to the polls. I only lost a half hour because of the breakdown. :D

As it turned out the battery died, and when they go, they go fast without warning. I thought it was something serious. Odd that the battery light never came on. Oh well. Gonna pick it up tomorrow morning. It likes to be a drama queen, if its something minor it wont run and stops in the middle of the road. But thats a Ford for ya, cranky but reliable. :D

I would be old enough to vote in the US, but I don't live there. Obvious answer. :]

It seems people sometimes forget there are international members of this board (or sometimes the Internet) when they do such polls... ah well.

It is interesting seeing how things turn out though. It also makes me wonder whether GWB will handle things differently if he is re-elected...

i dont think he was thinking that everyone on the internet was american. people aho arent american on this board are a distinct minority though, so the poll seems perfectly sensible to me.

I'm not bitching... I actually don't care. But that doesn't stop me commenting on it.

Especially since, even if the US represents the majority of 'net users now, it won't for long.

For those of you who didn't vote, you still have the right to complain, but, you don't have the right to be heard. You've squandered that away.
