I like all kinds of music. I listen to alot of soundtracks from games and movies. I dont listen to typical radio music, though I do like classic rock. Then there is classical music, though not the light whispy ones that make you fall asleep. I dont like rap and hip hop ether. So I cant name one favorite as I have lots of them.
yeah i can listen to eminem. it's all about the message with rap no? and his isn't too bad (compared to other popular rap artists). don't love it enough to buy/download it though.
atm i'm listening to Prodigy's latest album, and it's going off like a frog in a sock.
my music taste is increasingly becomming too wide to explain, didn't used to be this way though. opera/classical, to arty electronic ambience pseudo-music, to your normal alternative, to dance and trance. it's bothersome to try to explain all angles.
i like food, i like music. i'm human, welcome to earth.

You don't listen to much rap then. His message is the worst in comparison to other Rap artists. Not saying any of the other rappers are saints by any means.roid wrote:yeah i can listen to eminem. it's all about the message with rap no? and his isn't too bad (compared to other popular rap artists).
Most rappers rap about being rich, being a gangstah, having sex, selling drugs, shooting cops (not so much anymore, that I know of), etc....
Eminem sings about stuff like raping and killing his mom, killing his wife, all kinds of nasty things. How hes a white rapper and he feels oppressed by corporate America
Nah, none of their messages are really all that great. Half the time its nothing but bitches and hos and the bling and thats it every single song.
Wheee, well, theres my beef with rap. lol

If you have heard "Mosh" by Eminem....his latest song. It's about Voting....try watching the music video on yahoo.
which makes him slightly more accessable to me than other rap artists. i don't give a ★■◆● about most of the stuff that popular rap artists crap on about, eminem has a little more stuff that i care about than most.Tyranny wrote:You don't listen to much rap then. Eminem is almost the only artist in the entire urban-esque genre I don't hate, and principally because many of his songs are actually amusing.
Not to mention that the backing track often sounds decent, rather than simply tacky like 99% of hip-hop artists settle for.
Doesn't come close to my preferred music list though. That would be more like...
U2
Coldplay
Evanescence
Pink Floyd (most of)
Queensryche (seriously underappreciated... hard to believe almost no-one has heard of them where I live)
Linkin Park
Pearl Jam
Live (their older stuff mostly)
Smashing Pumpkins (their better work anyway)
Goo Goo Dolls
Metallica (some of)
Ozzy Osbourne
Emma Shapplin
Enya
The Corrs
The Ataris
Madonna (some of her work)
Savage Garden (maybe generic pop, but they did it quite well)
So there you have it... as perhaps figures, mostly rock, some grunge, progressive metal, alternative stuff and a bit of new-age thrown in...

I have been classically trained vocally, I sang in Jazz Ensemble in college, worked with electronic musicians, and my parents subjected me to Tenessee Ernie Ford plays the organ.....
I like it all for the most part. I listen to mostly trance when I'm at work, (cuz it keeps me going), classical at home and smatterings of everything else in between.
The more opportunity you have to experience the widest genres of music....take it! even if you don't like it, it may give you a greater understanding of what makes people tick, their motivations, and their lifestyles.
I've been on a big blues kick lately....Real, deep-down, soul-grabbing music. John Lee Hooker ROCKS!!!

if it sounds desent i'll give it a shot. only kind of music i don't like is country. I've just grown to hate it. As for the hole eminem thing, you should listen to the song mocking bird on his newest album if you think his songs don't have desent messages.
But i like a little of everything from rap to rock to trance. DJ-GT is my favorite vocal trance artist. www.generationtrance.com if you wanna download his mixes. they are free and kick ass.

Wow, this is like what, his fourth CD? One song with a good message does not a good message make. Where have some of you guys been for the last 6 or so years? Oh yeah, probably too young to listen to his musicZer0Cool wrote:As for the hole eminem thing, you should listen to the song mocking bird on his newest album if you think his songs don't have desent messages.
