Television ?

Post by Mobius »

How much TV do you watch?

I'm talking about Free-To-Air, commercial TV.

I have a 12 inch colour TV, and it gets 4 channels. One of them is a text-song-code-to-play-the-video music channel and the other 3 are commercial TV.

My answer - less than 1 hour a month. Essentially none.

&EDIT&: How did I leave out the "2" between 1 and 3? GRR.

Big gap between under an hour a week and under an hour a day. No wonder the majority fit there.
I have cable on a single televsion, three teenagers and a wife that works out of the home.
Even if there was something to watch I would never get control of the thing long enough to see it.

Ditto Iceman! But the thing is this - there's SO MUCH great TV out there! This is what confuses me greatly.

I figured most people would be watching 2-4 hours a day - but this is the DBB so it's necessarily not a picture of "average" people. :)

Under 1 hour a day. The news, and the small period between calling my girlfriend and going to sleep..

I catch the news every now and again, and a few of the english sit-coms or whodunnit stuff, that's about it. No i tell a lie, when there's football on i'm glued to the Telly.

The kids watch about an hour or so a day, not because i enforce any rules or anything, just that they're too busy. I guess we're lucky to live in an enviroment that they can play outside all afternoon with friends without us being worried. (aged 11 and 8 )

TV is cool but it's not a big focus of our family.

.....now the grill for the BBQ is a completly different matter entirely, i can stare at that for hours on end. ;)

I never watch TV ever. Yet I have a tuner card in my PC tapping the cable, so any channel is just a few mouseclicks away. Can't be bothered.

Jeez, how can some of you not watch any TV? :P I watch at least 2 hours a day. Right now, I'm watching Lost, South Park, Drawn Together, ER, Star Trek: Enterprise, and the Simpsons once a week. Plus, there's football every Sunday/Monday night, as well as the odd good movie. It boggles the mind when people say there's nothing good on TV; if you cut through all of the reality show/cheesy sitcom crap, there are some really great shows on.

None of the stuff worth watching is on free-to-air TV. Occasionally, when I'm walking past the TV, a free-to-air channel is screening. There, my fraction of an hour per week.

I don't watch TV that much. I like to watch the South Park on wednesdays, sometimes movies on IFC(Independant Film Channel), nebraska football, sometimes there's good shows on the History Channel, Discovery, and the fighter jet shows on Discovery Wings. Most channels that are being payed for a bull★■◆● and I don't even flick through them. what are we paying, $60 for the DirecTV, but seriously I only watch about maybe $15 worth really.

The TV is on most of the time in the house, so I can't help but hearing/getting glimpses of some of it everytime I walk through that section of the house or am fixing dinner, but the time where I sit down to watch something generally involves the news or a few minutes of Jay Leno every now and then, so less than an hour a week probably. I used to watch it almost 24/7 when I was younger until I was about 9 or so, then I found better things to do with my time.

I don't watch any "free to air." I watch quite a bit of cable movie stuff. Tonight I am going to watch The Punisher on movies on demand.

I havnt watched anything on Over-The-Air network TV, with the exception of select sporting events, in years. The only program I do watch that might be considered over-the-air, Star Trek Enterprise, I download off the internet so I can view it in full commercial-free HD Glory.

 Hey, I watch that too!

Television is on for background noise. TV is on for extended hours every day but I rarely watch much of anything however.

Spend too many hours at the computer for work and play each week. :P

I don't watch TV that much, just sometimes the news. I have a radeon with a TV tuner on it, but the card usually gets used for more important endeavors (read: games). :D

I usually have the news on each morning when I am getting ready. Sometimes I have it on when I am on the cpu. But as far as sitting down and watching a show, under an hour a month. I just dont have the attention span for tv.

I hate watching TV quite a bit. I don't have too much time for it other than the occasional news. Mostly, I'm on the internet doing stuff on there when I'm not either at school, doing homework, or am outside.

Not to be mean or anything, but the poll is worded wrong.

The last option, under 5 hours, still applies to me. I could have selected that option truthfully if I only watch 1 minute of TV a day.

Should have used over than under... :)
