Re:
Warpig's a good guy, and a very very good player. Don't worry about getting blown away by him. There aren't many pilots who can hold their own against him, particularly if it's a level he knows and MD is around.Alter-Fox wrote:[Re: Warpig^BoTS^]Whenever I was fighting anyone, he came in with his ridiculously low ping and MD'd me to death.
You cannot get 'consistently typekilled' unless you are 'consistently typing while alive'.Alter-Fox wrote:He consistently typekilled me.
Just consider it a lesson: Type when you're dead.
Not gonna happen, sorry. I'm a considerably more experienced pilot than you are, and the only time I've ever beaten Warpig 1v1 was in a level he had never played before (plus, I got him laughing his butt off during the game).Alter-Fox wrote:...I will not rest until I have utterly demolished him 1 on 1.

He was also kill-stealing.
And FYI the problem was he was being rude.
Who says this is going to be in D3?Not gonna happen, sorry. I'm a considerably more experienced pilot than you are, and the only time I've ever beaten Warpig 1v1 was in a level he had never played before (plus, I got him laughing his butt off during the game).

I'm sorry, Alter-Fox, but you're playing the wrong game if you think a third party swooping in for the kill is somehow 'rude'.
If you're fighting someone, you should ALWAYS watch out for people looking to grab an easy kill. And if they do, don't get mad at them - learn from them. The dynamics of multiple fights happening at once, and fights bleeding into other fights, is part of the game.
If you want to fight someone without interruptions from third parties... stick to 1v1.
Just in case there is any confusion let me say my blast and insult at Warpig was of the highest praise. I respect ALL aspects of his game cause the guys got MAD SKILLZ. That being said I will not rest until I humiliate him badly and I challenge him to many 1v1's until that happens . I got a few kills on him in the last FFA we played that made my nuts tingle so It's gonna happen buddy.
Re:
Quite right Foil. It always has been; even since D1. "Back in the day" the real fowls were spawn mining and type killing (in D1 anyways) the culture has changed since then and Type killing is acceptable now. So meh. (for those fairly new to the game; that is why a keyboard appears over the ships when a person is typing. You used to point your nose at the floor in D1 and D2)Foil wrote:"Kill-STEALING"?Alter-Fox wrote:He was also kill-stealing.

Well that's one of the reasons I like team games in D1 and D2 because you have to use discretion. It brings a whole different element into the game that you have to determine whether it's a friendly or an opponent before you fire, so unlike anarchy you can't just fire wildly and expect your not gonna kill one of your own. In anarchy I feel it should be completely cutthroat and no one should expect anyone to be doing anything else but totally trying to destroy everyone in the game. Besides, I've let let up on the trigger because some other pilot was not engaging just to have them start firing as I pass.

Duper, you were responding to my post there... but I wasn't talking about type-killing.Duper wrote:...the culture has changed since then and Type killing is acceptable now...
My point was about Alter-Fox's "kill-stealing" (the accusation that says "it's rude to steal the kill when I was fighting that guy"), which is utterly ridiculous.

Piggy is a great pilot, and he's a master of hit and run.
How about some Team Anarchy with friendly-fire enabled for Wednesday? I've been playing a game recently where you have to be careful because you can hurt your team-mates, and I think it would be a great thing to have up for a while. I don't have any specific level in mind.

Kill stealing wasn't the rude part. (Or not the only one, at least.) Typekilling is rude, imo. One time, they might not have seen the keyboard... if they do it consistently...
Also most pilots I play with at least apologize for typekilling.
The rude part was he was constantly taking advantage of me, but almost no one else... (trust me, I watched the kill messages). I play for fun, not to win, but it's hard to have fun when I can't stay alive for 2 secs.

1. If you're getting "consistently" killed while you're typing, QUIT TYPING WHEN YOU'RE FLYING.Alter-Fox wrote:Typekilling is rude, imo. One time, they might not have seen the keyboard... if they do it consistently...
2. If you can't wait to type something until you die, you're talking way too much.
3. Don't expect other pilots to share your particular view of gaming boundaries.
[E.g. I don't typekill in most situations. HOWEVER, I do not get mad if someone else does. It's their perogative to play the way they want.]
4. If you're getting killed by the same player over and over, don't whine, LEARN FROM IT.Alter-Fox wrote:The rude part was he was constantly taking advantage of me, but almost no one else...
5. Be aware that your perception of kills is skewed, especially if you're frustrated. Take a look at Warpig's stats (pulled from the .stats files from that night's WNFC games):

Alter, tell Otterhawk we're thinking of him.Alter-Fox wrote:Otterhawk died of a heart attack on Friday... he was resurrected by his doctor and he has no memory of what happened or how he felt.
Being medically revived (I assume that's what you're referring to?) is no small matter.

The server isn't up yet. I had to play BI3 instead
!!UPDATE!!:
OtterHawk has made a stunning comeback just now! He held second place in Brain Salad Surgery until the end of the match... Lothar was first, but he's a legitimately impossible to beat player who I enjoy facing.
OtterHawk beat the likes of Grisly Atoms, Machete Bug, and several others I can't remember to secure second place.
