I found it quite disturbing to see his dead body being toted around on the news this afternoon like some trophy...

You could be right. It's also used as "contact", "knot" and "communication" probaably a few other things as well. All with a sence of bringing together. It's not the richest of languages.

EDIT: also "conspiracy"...but definitly not gathering place.

but it kinda implys that he also has a pope-cave.
