it's quite amazing, boys and girls can get quite easily mixed up in animé:

Nothing amazing about it considering you've fairly crudely photochopped that pic ;)

Shinji is otherwise rather obviously male in actual screengrabs from the series.

Though to contradict myself, here's a good example in the opposite direction from Noir.

<--- he's male. his name is "Kid" and he is one of the many multiple personalitys sharing the body of "Kano" (male). Kid's personality is an immature 10 years old, but Kano (and therefore his body) is somewhere around 17.

Kano's gender is often mistaken by other characters within the comic even, so don't worry too much. even i thought he was a chick until halfway through the first chapter.

ironically the comic actually has a transgendered character: Heyoka (which you'll see in chapter 19 that i linked). when you realise that 'Fireball', the author of the comic, is a natural hermaphrodite (yeah the 3rd sex) and has gender issues herself, you can see why this filters through into the comic.

here's the full pic of my icon.

btw tyranny i hope you know i wasn't serious with that "keep digging" remark :). (and the fat/green/farty thing was all in good fun of course)
i just wanna make sure no-one's taking this personally.

I think I know why I don't like it: it looks like she's really bored with what she is doing- like she doesn't really care about the song that she is singing, and like her facial expressions are artificial, not there because she really enjoys what she is singing.

I've seen enough of you roid to know when you're joking. Atleast I'd like to think so. No harm no foul.

You usually keep all the serious opinions in E&C. Anything outside of that is done in fun or because of a lapse in medication ;)

Sage, that is intentional. Much of anime protrays unisex or transgender characters. A couple of the space battle suit shows (The names escape me) have what are young men dressed an aweful lot like girls skirts and high boots. ..ew

Are you thinking of Gundam?

no.. not gundam .. it was Angel or some such. The girls were the mechanics and the ops assists.

Or gaurdian. They were a super elite group of "pilots". No, it wasn't gundam. thx tho. :)

Side note: Tetrad, your avatar makes me want to destroy my monitor.
Right Click in Firefox 0.9 -> "Block images from www.descentbb.net". Argh, if only it was hosted off-site...

I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't animated.

I have a ad blocker that can block specific images, even just one image from an entire site. =)

Interesting link between PayPal and phpBB. If you channel money to PayPal, people's avatars begin to change at your request...;)

go to www.mozdev.org and look for adblock in the top 50 list, I think its right before the google tool bar. once installed, rightclick at the bottom "adblock this image". It will block individual images
