Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest

Post by DarkFlameWolf »

Just got back from seeing this movie and was very pleased with it. It may not be entirely up to par with the original of course, but it was still a worthy sequal in its own right in my opinion. The end of the movie perfectly set up for what will most likely be a most exciting third chapter in the PofC trilogy. The story was quite good and even connected quite a few things with the first movie and judging by the ending, there are quite a few more things left to reveal about the Black Pearl. I'll stop my post there for fear of spoiling anything but I will say this: Don't screw up the third one, please!
Your thoughts?

Oh, and stay until the end of the credits for another nice little bonus.

I saw it this morning at 12:10am. I liked it a lot. How come when people die they don't *really* die? :P
I look forward to the third one.

By the way, what happened after the credits? I didn't stay. :?
Why doesn't it work?

Reminded me a lot of Halo 2, in that there were some awesome action sequences and it was a lot of fun, but the ending soured the experience.

My boyfriend and I saw this movie yesterday and we loved it. The ending was a perfect twist to the story. It seems that this movie is more funnier than the last one I couldn't stop laughing. Though I am now a bit disappointed that apparantly there's more to see at the end of the credits. We didn't see it so would you tell us what that was about, DarkFlameWolf?

I didn't like it. It seemed like everyone sunk down to the level of backstabbing and treachery. I think they should just all kill each other in the next movie and be done with it.

I thought it was cool, but it seemed like a very different movie then first Pirates. Not as child friendly either hehe

but the ending felt like it stopped halfway through a chapter, it was kind of odd.

I have to say that I absolutely loved the movie. It was very funny and it also left the ending open to another movie in the future. I sure can't wait to see that one! I highly encourage everyone to see it. :)

Wrong. Unlike the Matrix Trilogy where they did release the third movie after the sixth month. Last I heard, we have to wait until next summer for the third movie of Pirates.

I know someone who works at Disney and they said it was coming out in May '07.

I thought it was damn good. Pretty slick ending too.
I just hope Jack Sparrow isn't actually dead or I'm done. He is what makes the damn show!
Kind of odd that the Kraken's first attack on the ship where they found his hat took about .5 seconds, big explosion, and disappearing ship, but all the subsequent attacks took 15 minutes each. Hmm...

First one was better, with more funny, though the scenes with the runaway waterwheel were quality.

I saw an interview where Disney was really nervous before the first one came out on how J.Depp portrayed the pirate.

But, he really is what made the movie. So he will be back. I'd bet on it.

I went into the movie not knowing much about it, let alone it was a cliff hanger.

I yelled in dismay when the captain came down the stairs and the screen went black to credits. I mean WTF m8ty.

It was a very good movie, much darker and more serious than the original. Davey Jones looked very cool, although I have a hard time picturing a person with a Scottish accent as being truly evil (Even Fat Bastard).

Can't wait for the 3rd to see how it turns out. :)
