Well, I've been composing for over a year now, and never really made an album or collection, so I figured I might as well start one now. :)

All my previous compositions as well as many you have not heard are available here.

Just as a gauge for what I should attempt to do in the future--which of these songs are your favorites, and which should I attempt to develop further?

Please note that all of the songs in the \"Fragments\" folder are simply fragments or introductions for songs I never actually finished

listened to a bit, will listen to more in the morning...

my comments so far is that i really don't like this cheap midi sound one bit, it's a real shame it ALL sounds like this. But if you are purely a composer, not a musician, then i guess delivery isn't as important - and we should be concentrating more on the written composition rather than the delivery itself.

What program/s are you using to make this? Maybe it'd help to brach out into some more modern programs/techniques/instruments becides midi.
i mean, Midi electric guitar sounds pretty horrible compared to the real thing, you gotta admit .
What do you think about asking some ppl around here to lay down some tracks of real instruments for you to replace some of these midi instrument tracks? Even just experimentally. i'd help if you're keen.

I'm a musician as well as a composer, but the only instruments I play are piano and trumpet, so it's a little difficult to do real guitar. ;)

I'm using Fruity Loops Studio 5 for these--and believe me, this stuff is not MIDI. It's written MIDI-style, certainly, and instruments are laid out somewhat like a MIDI creator, but it is far from MIDI.

I would, however, be most willing to help someone replace the tracks in my songs with real insturments--Classical1 is the only one I can do myself to some extent, since I play the trumpet.

I can provide scores of the songs if you're interested in playing some of them.

(your asleep, so here)

this is pretty hard! I can play it 50% speed no problems. But when you get faster on a guitar you gotta get lazy and use hammeron/pulloff techniques to keep up, but not all of this riff allows for that.

(i tabbed it out)

Code: Select all

\"Fragment6\"

Capo at 3rd

Guitar loop
                          ::argh:::          :::argh::
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
-----0----------0-----------------3------------------------------0
-0-3---0-3----0-----0-3---0---3-0------0-3---0---3-0-3---0-3---0--
----------------------------3------------------0------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

Bass
------- --- --- ---
------- --- --- ---
------- --- --- ---
-1---3- -4- -5- -6-
edit: oh you are ★■◆●ing joking, isn't fixed width lettering supposed to be the whole point of the \"code\" tag? what is this?! IT IS NOT FIXED WIDTH LETTERING! argh
