Spam Wars

Post by De Rigueur »

http://apnews.myway.com//article/200705 ... BJ3G0.html
SEATTLE (AP) - A 27-year-old man described as one of the world's most prolific spammers was arrested Wednesday, and federal authorities said computer users across the Web could notice a decrease in the amount of junk e-mail.

Robert Alan Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised \"zombie\" computers to send out millions upon millions of spam e-mails.
That story made my morning.

Yes, I read that also. Hopefully they continue and catch more (_O_)s. Spamming has to become a federal crime and punishable by death if you ask me. Such a waste of time, money and bandwidth.

Nah, I'd rather them get slapped with a fine steep enough to put them into debt for atleast a decade.

Somebody said this before:

\"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their p*nises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship\"

Yes.
In reality though, a perfect world would be one where people can't spam.

Making spam impossible isn't actually that difficult... it's just not intercompatible with the prevailing SMTP/POP3 system that was designed before spam even registered as a possible problem.
