Diedel-
I noticed that the monsterball functionality for multiplayer worked in version 1.9.257. When i try look for it in the multiplayer game setup menu, it is not there as a gametype, but only the config for it is. Have you dropped support for it or something? I really enjoyed playing that way sometimes.

No, I haven't. Post a bug report on sourceforge.net, D2X-XL project about it please.

Man I'd love to, do you use D3 1.5 beta also? I do since I like the extra sparks you get from the poewrups themselves
Descent3 is alot different to Descent1 &2 though it does give me the Descent feel, the mod PyroMania 1.5 is very cool though using D2 weaponary rocks that Helix Cannon still kicks lot's of butt hehe

Monsterball in D3 rocks. Wouldn't be the same in D2 without MD.

hmm yeah you do have a point there
D3 has more freedom also, which is a very important factor for Monster Ball hehe

That may be so, but my pc is much newer; also it appears that it is the video driver or something.

You have a newer machine and have trouble with D3? Did you have the launcher check your system? Did you choose openGL or Direct3D in video tab?
Whats the issue you are having? PM me and I can try to help.

He probably has some major brand name PC that is using an Intel integrated video decelerator.

i have tried opengl and direct3d. they both are 'jumpy'. i built my pc from scratch, btw. my card is an ati x800 xl, 256mb. Intel is crap. i would never waste even a penny on anything with intel in the name.

Every ATI Catalyst driver past 7.10 (i.e. 7.11 and up) causes that jumpiness and other problems. I have already contacted ATI's developer support because of that.
I have a Monsterball option. Dunno why you don't. You may need the Vertigo data for it.

I indeed have the Vertigo data, because when i start XL up, in the upper right corner, it says : D2X-XL 1.12.46 VERTIGO. I know it is an old version, but i like to keep versions that seem almost 100% stable for average gameplay.

Bingo! Blasted ATI...
So what do you think the problem is then? I noticed a few other gametypes aren't showing up, but i am only concerned with monsterball. I have been aching to play it on XL, but i can't.

You need to install the Vertigo data: d2x.hog and d2x.mn2 go to the missions folder, hoard.ham to the data folder.

I don't have the Hoard.ham, unless it is somewhere i do not know of. Is it part of the Vertigo Data?

Yes, it is.

NVM, i found it in a folder i had called VERTIGO. I put the Horad.ham in the data directory and everything reappeared. Thanks!
I will probably get dual Nvidia graphics cards and shed my ATI card.
