Playing a ripped DVD in a standalone DVD player

Post by Testiculese »

If I use DVDShrink to rip a DVD to disk, I get the AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS folders. If I then open Nero and burn these to a DVD, will it play in a standalone player? Only one person I know has a DVD player, and it doesn't work...but his player is old and an off-brand.

If the DVD player is not too old, it will usually play a home recorded DVD disc. Mine (a Toshiba SD-4900 hacked to be multi-region) plays fine all the DVDs I burn. Some advices: buy good branded blank media (newegg.com is the best online store to buy these) and use a good software that will set automatically your DVD as a DVD-ROM.
