I don't have a PlayStation 3, but ever since Metal Gear Solid, I've admired the ambition behind these games. You can still look at MGS on the PSOne and be amazed at what they accomplished despite enormous technical limitations. I also loved the somewhat gimmicky (dare I say Bond-like) villains.

The only MGS game that I played before is The Twin Snakes for Gamecube. Too bad I don't have a PS3(I have a PS2 though).

I so wish they would release the MGS 3 & 4 on PC.
I'd play them in a heart beat, but to buy a PS2 or 3 just to play them. Not worth it.

Don't have a PS3, and there's not nearly enough good games for it to warrant me wanting it.

I beat it yesterday. About 20hrs long with Cutscenes.
Was a perfect game. What I'd expect form the final game in the series.

Heh, I remember Metal Gear as the original 8-bit Nintendo game my brother and I spent hours and hours playing:
I played the first Metal Gear Solid on my PlayStation I, but it just didn't seem quite the same, so I haven't continued following the series.

I loved the 1st Metal Gear for NES, I remember playing it a lot. It was a very hard game. It had a lot of catchy 8-bit music.
How the times have changed and the graphics improved:

I got about a 3rd of the way into MGS4 before my buddy convinced me I should really play the other games first. I'm a little more than half way through twin snakes now.
