Congratulations. You survived the startup of the Hadron Collider.

I Heard from my uncle, who has been working at CERN for the last decade or so!!! That at the moment, they are firing up one single proton beam, and calibrating its speed and direction (to make sure it holds its course) In a week or so, they will turn it off and turn on a new proton beam which goes around the ring in the opposite direction. They will spend a few weeks calibrating that one, and then in mid october sometime, they will turn on both of them, and hopefully get some tasty collisions!

So the end of the world? well not quite yet... :P

Hopefully it creates a special selective kind of black hole that only sucks away the people who are crying about it.

No plasma-spewing demons have come crashing into the living room yet, so I guess everything's alright after all. :P

Kinda funny, but I don’t really trust those physicists, I mean they can’t seem to figure out we live in a universe of infinite dimensions, not 3.

When they built the first atomic pile, they weren’t sure if the control rods would work, when they lit up the first bomb, they weren’t sure the atmosphere wouldn’t ignite. Now they’re messing around with Black Holes, and exploding super cooled electromagnets…
