Sometimes i will make co-op server and i set max players to 5, but in trackers i see my server but only with 3 slots... how to fix it? I m using D3Server by Hunter

Co-op normally will allow only 3 in a dedicated server. From what I understand, the servers which are hosting co-op for up to 5 are using a modified co-op.d3m. (I don't know where they got it, or who made it, though.)

If that’s true it explains a lot. When I made Ktulu’s Lair (aka The Mercenary Guild) I had a lot of people tell me they couldn’t get a large co-op game going, and for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why.

It's obviously a limit Outrage put in during development. IMO, it's lame. in D1 and 2 you could do up to 4.

D3 should allow 4 players in coop. You are allowed 4 coop starting points when building.

If you set a number over the limit, it could be that it DEFAULTS to 3 rather than 4.

If you are trying coop in a user based level, it could be that they only placed 3 starting points rather than 4.

The reason only 3 are allowed in dedi servers is that the dedi server itself is treated as one \"player\".

So if you host a coop from ingame you can have 4 pilots (incl. yourself).

The special version of the Coop mod is made by AlexI

cheers,...

what to do?

the -useport command line switch is your friend.

Yes, when running D3, set the -useport to a different port than your dedi server.

I have found that co-op.d3m by Alexi, but when i run server with it it will say \"Missing string\"
everything works great, but in F7 are not \"Kills Deaths Suicides\" but everywhere is missing string.
I can't find that string file.Please help

That's very strange, as we've been using that file for ages without issues.

I can only imagine that you're not running an English version of Descent 3. As far as I remember, the German version for instance even displays this error in single-player when GB messages are supposed to come up.

I found out : Only you can see it with errors - other players with normal coop.d3m can't see it :D

I think the modified .d3m is designed for use as a dedicated server, so all the players can use the regular .d3m.

That's because the missing string error is down to your Descent 3 installation and not the coop.d3m. ;)

It's a known Linux check-sum issue. See here for the fix.

Munk is/was a member of the VEX-Clan, so that would be a good place to inquire about the files (they were apparently hosted on the clan's server):

http://www.vex-clan.de/

If push comes to shove, I have the three Linux files, but not the Mac file or the Perl script.

Obviously, all of the files need some additional mirrors.
