For me Eragon, which was a great book, was the worst movie-let-down ever.
I hope that Ender's game isn't going to be the same.
(If you haven't read Ender's game, read it now)

HERESY! Independence Day was the best big dumb summer blockbuster ever made, and has too many great quotes to mention. And the original live-action Street Fighter falls directly into the "so bad it's awesome" category for me. Raul Julia absolutely hamming it up as Bison is a beautiful thing. Independence Day was awesome. You all need someone to hack your brains to disable your shields, so you can get Will Smithed.
Who the hell uses python 3 as the default python, anyway? Nobody!
I'll fix it anyway

Afraid I have to agree. I loved ID4.
My pick for a really bad movie - Snakes on a Plane

Even without the benefit of reading the book, Eragon seemed... like it could have been really good, but was let down badly by utterly pedestrian writing. There were things I liked, but sure not the dialogue.
However. Baaaaad movies. Most I probably haven't seen - and I bet Alone in the Dark comes near tops in that category, though maybe Battlefield Earth (if I recall the name...) could be close. Of the ones I've seen there are just a few but they speak more to what I don't like than is truly terrible for everyone.
First two would be Borat and Jackass. Supposed to be funny, far too often just crass, difficult to watch.
Umm... does a two-part mini-series count? I really want to say 10.5. It was so bad it was awesome - you'd think that if someone's writing a script about earthquakes, they'd maybe try to learn something about them first?
Transformers 2. None of the three were particularly tasteful, but this one was pretty much completely worthless apart from the battle scenes.
Which reminds me: All of the Fast and the Furious movies. Yes, we know the plot is just an excuse for the car racing scenes, but they put so little effort into hiding it - they don't even make sense - that it's embarrassing.
Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. Poster child for what happens if you translate anime into live-action (well it was still CG, but looked fairly real) verbatim; you walk away feeling your brain melted a little.
Most of SyFy's monster B-movie line-up. hahahahahaha

Seriously? This movie was great. Bill Pullman's speech is legendary.

I don't think it can be on the list of worst movies if it's responsible for a compilation like this

Oh boy, do I agree. I've read that book at least five times, there's no way the movie will do it justice.

Brain melting? I'd love to find out what that feels like.
Maybe I'll rent the FF7 movie in a few years when I have money to spare.
I only read Ender's Game once, but I doubt it would be possible to convey the sorts of feelings that the book was able to in a movie -- a book can go into a character's head in ways that a movie can't even imagine. And that book was very very good at getting the reader to do that, more than many books whose big-screen adaptations have failed for that reason.
Of course, there's the bias of having spoiled the twist at the ending by reading the book as well. But that wouldn't be the movie's fault...

I never would began to watch 99% of foreign movies in the original (including "Lord of the Rings") because of their full dullness if in Russia some of them didn't leave in alternative translate. Then to look not only it is cheerful, but also it is interesting. To be fair it is necessary to tell, as among the Russian movies full of a sh*t =)

Hey SW....
I never make a critical analysis of any movie unless it's based on some sort of fact but in the case of "Independence Day"....and just a week ago...."Battleship", I look at the entertainment and special effects value instead. I have to say that I loved both of them. In fact, I watched "Battleship" 5 times (so far) on HBOHD and loved it every time. It was visually stunning, entertaining, and the music was awesome. I also liked the cute reference to the original board game.
Oh, and I want you to know that being in love with Taylor Kitsch made no difference.
