Well, As I mentioned on Fnoigy's thread, I made a paper template for the PyroGX.
Here's a picture of the model:
Took ~3 hours to assemble, the main fuselage is quite hard due to all those angles. Wish I had a color printer...
And here's a link to the download. It's provided as a pdf.
Assembly is with PVA glue, there are no tabs because, well, I'm not a great fan of them, as they generally tend to 'bulge' the model. If someone is desperate for some really small tabs, I can make you a special version, but I'd rather not.
I'm pretty happy with it, but may at some point tweak up the brightness as it printed a little dark. I do not have access to the original textures, so I jumped into GIMP (and got the metal stripes from the D2X-XL high-res-textures). Unfortunately I can't figure out how to tell the exporter I want pixelly textures, so they look a little blurred.
If someone wants the blend file, just ask, or if you have better ideas for the layout, tell me.
Any suggestions for the next bot?

Re: Paper PyroGX (Original Version)
That looks badass. Good job!
D1 Level 7 Boss! Or maybe the first boss in D2. That should be easy-ish.sdfgeoff wrote:Any suggestions for the next bot?

Seriously cool work there Bud! Outstanding!!!
Re: Paper PyroGX (Original Version)
Cool stuff. Now if anyone wants to get really hardcore, try taking on Drakona's old origami Pyro.
Re: Paper PyroGX (Original Version)
Someone already did earlier origami Pyro and robots? TG, can you remember where it is possible to see?
Re: Paper PyroGX (Original Version)
WOW! That came out really good! I think next you should make the class 1 driller.
I think I know how you can get the textures. Find and install Haxmed32 from the DMTools. From this, you can open Descent2.ham, and you'll be able to browse nearly all the files, including texture files! That's how I had to get the Pyro's model in the first place.
