You find them in your inventory with the [ and ] keys, and then use them with the \ key.

make sure you use the correct key for area you're trying to enter.

heres a tip.
Key G-1 = Minimum Security

Key Y-1 = Medium Security

Key R-1 = Maximum Security

Key X-1 = Transfer Tunnel Controls and Exit Hatch
EDIT: happy now

MODEDIT: Yes, we are. And take your childish crap I just deleted in this thread to another forum. I won't tolerate it here. If you start again, you won't be allowed to post in this forum.

Here's a tip for AceCombat:
USE SPOILER TAGS when you write spoilers. They're like {spoiler} and {/spoiler} but with square brackets like [] instead of {}
Also, Ace, the X-1 key is a red herring that does absolutely nothing :P.

Lothar, what Ace posted isn't really much of a spoiler; however, the spoiler tags are a good idea when dealing with some more in-depth points.

how do you get to the lightening controle room? guidebot direction leads nowhere...
how do you use "inventory"? went to config. can't seemto get good results. thanks

As Mr. Perfect posted above, select items in your inventory by using the [ and ] keys. The currently selected item should appear on the left-hand side of your HUD. To use the current inventory item, press \. The Guide-bot should lead you right to the lightning control tower; try commanding him to a second time. If he still doesn't go, just travel straight from the start of the level. Eventually, you'll come into a room with a dead end at an energy center (I think) at the end of a hallway. The exit to the lightning control area is located on the right-hand side of this hallway. However, it's protected by a forcefield; you'll find the switch close by.

The lightning is actually at level 3

I assumed that he was talking about level 3, as I've never seen "Lightning Control" appear as a Guide-bot option in level 2 :P.

ahh. that's right. Thanks. Been a while. It's also the level for the demo.

Man, I remember the first time playing the solo demo. What a thrill. :)

Level 3 also does not have the G-1, Y-1, R-1 and X-1 Keys.

wow im surprised no one has called me a geek for knowing that by memory

thanks for the help. i figured out the lightining control(e)sic thing... that bandit is a bear 8)
moving right along. @ the icon collector(?) stage after you come out of the ground what do you do? i've shot everything i can think of & been back to the entrance shaft.oh yes i even had the packet (sic). p.s. never played d1 or d2....this is great :D

Are you referring to the outdoor area with the series of hoops standing up? If so, fly through the one hoop without a force field. This will start a timer and will de-activate another forcefield. You must fly through each hoop in sequence until you pick up the icon. Just wait until you get to the Priest's Icon; you'll probably need help there too (you'll see what I mean when you get there :P).

the keys

At first I was confused but realized that
G stands for green (low level security)

Y stands for for yellow (medium level security)

R stands for red (high level security)
that simple the x key was probably put in to make some one think that it was important because it was a letter of the alphabet commonly used for keys and things

I never pick up the X-1 key, and i have no problems with the door.

Edit: Ahh, i know what your problem was. You must locate Dr. Sweitzer's low securety chell before you continue to the door, or the door wont open. On your way back for the key, you have passed his chell and located it. :)

X1, yeah, killed all the bots, got a locked door in the transfer room, and a key. I've been through the level twice, from the outside towers, to the Max.Security, and can't find where to put the !@#$% key! I know I've passed it, and the GB says it doesn't have the NAV to help me find anything useful anymore.

Thanx - Silver
